Development Updates at The Crossvine

This spring may have put the brakes on school, work, and social activities, but it has been a busy time for welcoming new neighbors into the next phases of development at The Crossvine.

Phase 3 and Phase 4 currently have 57 homes completed or in progress over a total of 185 available lots, and we’re adding about 12 new homes each month. As these houses bring new residents, we are adding pocket parks and extending the greenbelts and hike and bike trails to give everyone more room to roam.

Phase 4 will feature community gardens, a bocci ball court, and picnic tables under 100-year-old oaks. Phase 3 has a tranquil park tucked inside a grove of oaks whose canopies bend to touch the ground, and will have a bridge that connects to Heritage Oaks park and playground.

This summer will bring a long-awaited and highly anticipated addition to The Crossvine: garden homes. We will kick off construction of 77 stand-alone homes that offer smaller hassle-free yards, connectivity to inner greenbelt courts, and accessibility to the trails, parks, and pools that make a big back yard unnecessary.

We will share floorplans and designs from David Weekley Homes and Scott Felder Homes as soon as we can. They are still on the drawing board, but they're going to be gorgeous.

FM 1518 Road Construction Updates

As you drive down FM 1518, you may notice that brush, trees, and fencing are being cleared back from the edge of the road. This is the beginning of TxDOT's work to widen FM 1518 to a four-lane road with a central median, which will ease traffic and give the transportation network around The Crossvine a little room to grow.

TxDOT is in the first phase of the process now and expects to begin road construction in 2023. These improvements will eventually stretch from FM 78 to I-10, and are made possible by a City of Schertz Bond passed in 2015 and matching State of Texas funds.
